Jim Ogonowski On The Campaign Trail

I bumped into Jim Ogonowski at the Friday Morning Group. Jim is currently mentioning his roots in the district (103 years) and when his grandparents came to Dracut - his dad who is 87 years old is actually on the tractor right now working in the fields. Jim went to Umass Lowell and went into the Air Force where he recently retired.

Jim said he is going to win at the grassroots level and that "Team Ogonowski is going to outwork everyone to win."

Jim asked everyone to "pass the word that we are going to send a Republican to Washington, we need to break the mentality that the GOP can't win here....we need to send a shockwave across the country."

Question: What is your plan for immigration?

Jim: This is related to my number one issue - national security. We need to secure our boarders and our ports. I hate the symblism of a physical fence, it remdinds me of Berlin - but we need it. We don't know who is coming in, there are reports that Al Queida is coming in - we need to secure our boarders asap. I'm not in favor of amnesty for those that are here illegally right now. If we arrest an illegal immigrant for a crime we should then deport them.
